Edit: now it's working...... I had not plugged in any of my units then I plug a couple in and the rest come up with updates.I have 4 Garmin units....perhaps updating 1 "kicked" the others into gear?
edit again.... now the update indicator has disappeared on the last unit - and I know it needs an update, GE is very quirky - perhaps unreliable (but what else is there?)
Try disconnecting everything, reboot and retest. If you are using a laptop you might also verify that the selective suspend feature isn’t enabled. That Windows feature improves battery life but by shutting off power at the USB port it could inadvertently disable communications.
Thank you. No, no power throttling on USB.... something has changed with GE & Win11 24H2..... It works, yes, but the notification indicators are some-timey...
No change here on my Win11 laptop, you could try uninstalling then reinstall Express. Haven't had any issues with Express for years.
Nope..... lost all the devices, added one and still no indicator.... and this forum site won't allow a short screen capture to be attached.... even though there is an "Insert" optoin. Typical Garmin.

Are you expecting alerts to a map update or another type of update? The reason I ask is I do get alerts (the small lit area on the device panel) to map updates but when I checked this AM one of my devices didn’t show an alert, but when connected said there was a time zone update available.
Same Issue here on Windows 10 and GE 7.24.0.0 - no Update-Indicators anymore, but when you click on one of your devices (i have six of them) it shows that there are updates. Sometimes, the indicator appears when you connect the device, sometimes not. Reinstall did not help.
Seeing same across multiple PCs (Win10 & Win11).
