Hello.

"Free Lifetime Maps" (Garmin Drive GPS Car Models), how does this translate ?

- As long as the GPS model is compatible with the Garmin update system (and has enough free space to receive them) ?
- As long as the GPS model is listed in the database to receive them ?
- As long as the GPS model is working ?

All of the above, and also whenever Garmin decides the unit is done. The so-called "lifetime" of anything is solely dependent on the manufacturer and they make the rules.

This is becoming more common. I've purchased items that had lifetime warranties, and now the time comes to get something fixed, and the company has since modified /redefined the definition of "lifetime".. basically absolving them of any responsibility.

I've read the current (Dutch) lifetime disclaimer and the one from ten years ago (using archive.org), and they are exactly the same...

I'm not so happy with the fact that LT support for my zumo 550 has been stopped, but it is in accordance with the terms.
