Garmin Edge 200 stopped working (yes, it's old, but I like it)

Yes, it's old, but it does what I want, and I like it, so I'm making one final effort to get it working again.

The trouble started last week when I plugged it into a windows 10 PC to upload rides.  I realized that it hadn't been recording for a few weeks.

Seemed like it might be full.  Checked the properties in Windows Explorer and seemed pretty full.  "Activities" wouldn't open in the Windows Explorer.

Did a factory reset.

Still can't open activities.  When I check the ride history on the device, it says there are none.  But when I check the properties in the Windows Explorer, it says there's only ~360KB of unused space.  And yet all of the items that show up in the explorer claim to be tiny files and folders.

I think it's got a huge amount data on it that's not showing up in the Explorer.

When I try to use it on the bike, it says it connects to satellites.  When I ride, it shows speed but not distance, and it doesn't record any ride data.

I'd like to wipe it and reinstall all of its software, but I can't find a way to do this.  When I connect to Garmin Express, it says I'm "up to date" and says it syncs.  But it doesn't give me a way to wipe and/or reinstall Garmin software on it.  The options under Tools and Content don't help.

I could re-format it from Windows, but I don't know where/how I'd be able to put the original software on it.

Any advice?
