Is the Nuvi 2569LMT-D still supported?

I have just downloaded the latest version of Garmin Express on a new Windows 11 laptop to update my ageing Nuvi 2569LMT-D and Garmin Express just cannot detect it, I have tried changing USB ports, different USB cables, updating Intel & USB drivers, rebooting laptop, reinstalling Garmin Express, shouting at it and looking in the opposite direction so it can install whilst I'm not looking.

It just cannot detect the device.  Its a good sat nav to, I don't particularly want to get a new one just because this one cant be detected.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

  • As far “just cannot detect it”, if you go to Device Manager is it there, or is it just that GE won’t detect it?

I don’t think there is any support issue because of the age of the 2569.  I say that because it came out in 2014 and I have two nuvi 265wt’s that seem to be fully supported as far as map updates, etc.  So, I’m more inclined to think in terms of Windows 11 being the issue.

Windows has several diagnostic tools. One for instance is the .NET Framework repair tool.  I would run that.  Verify that with respect to the ports on the laptop, USB selective suspend is disabled.  In that respect, do all testing with a laptop powered off main power, as opposed to battery.  Don’t use a hub, make sure you are plugged directly into the USB port.

  • It certainly is still supported. Try this FAQ support.garmin.com/.../
