Express 17.18 doesn't launch Garmin Connect website properly

Up until the last update, clicking the "Garmin Connect" icon in Express would always bring up the Garmin Connect website, logged in to my account. However, with the latest update, the first attempt always fails (brings up the login page), while if I close the browser and try again it works. This is EXCEEDINGLY annoying, as is the fact mentioned elsewhere about all activities on the watch being deleted. PLEASE FIX ASAP.

  • I suspect this started occurring a few versions ago. I had version 7.18.0, then reverted back to 7.17.3. It's exhibiting the same issue.  Personally, I never noticed until your post, since I never go to the web site using this method. I've reported this issue to Garmin Product Support via email - [email protected].

    , on August 29 I received an email response from Garmin Product Support. Since this is still occurring after updating to 7.18.1, I've sent them the logs from Garmin Express as well as a video showing what happens when clicking on the Garmin Connect link within Garmin Express. They are sending this to the engineering team.

  • I did a test before updating to 7.18.1; 7.17.3 always launched Garmin Connect correctly (apart from one occasion where I tried to copy the URL before it redirected), just as it had before the update to 7.17.3; 7.18.1 always fails on the first occasion and succeeds on the second, the same as 7.18.0.
