How to update GPSMAP 66sr firmware without Mac/Win?

How can I update the GPSMAP 66sr firmware without Mac/Win?

Do I have to copy a file on the SD card? Is there a special tool?

    You need to use Express, so you need access to a computer. If you don't have one you'll need to use a friends or perhaps try a public computer, libraries etc

    I have a computer, but all my friends and also I run Linux on the computer. I expected, that firmware updates are possible with the WIFI connection of the GPSMAP or by copying the firmware to the sdcard, as it is the default for many GPS devices.

    So far I know no public computers (libraries, internet cafe,...) where someone runs Windows and allows users to install random software at will. Never seen that.

    In my other question (https://forums.garmin.com/apps-software/mac-windows-software/f/garmin-express-windows/321848/support-please-create-a-linux-section-here) I asked to create a new section for Linux here.

    Instead of simply opening one so that users can help each other the question was closed.

    Garmin should remember that the GPSMAP 66 sr firmware is also Linux and depends on lots of free and open source software projects. There would be no Garmin firmware, if everyone would switch to Windows instead of using and developing open source software.

    Garmin and its users need and want Linux, so lets work together and make GPSMAP the best GPS devices for all users.

    I’m not familiar with Linux but how about the possibility of running a Win10 VM and see if Express will work in that manner.  See Windows 10 VM on Linux
