Device Storage 98% full

How do I clear out this message? I’ve reset my NAV 5 to factory settings. I don’t have any maps or tracks loaded or even any user data on the device.

I’m trying to use Garmin express to update my device and I can’t download any updates due to this warning. Please don’t say buy an SD card. This unit is back to factory new settings so why is it full?

Well something is there. Look for the largest files on your device and post a list here so someone can help.

I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say "Nav 5" so I could be totally off base but often times a Garmin device has only so much internal memory, then you have to insert a memory card to perform updates.

Best you clarify what you have and then perhaps some better recommendations will be posted. If I Google GArmin Nav 5 I get a BMW related navigation system. Is that what you have?
