Not enough space to install update/ maps missing?

I attempting to update maps on my Zumo 660, I get the 'not enough space in internal memory' error message.

I have a 32 GB SD card to I've formatted and inserted but that made no difference.

When I try to use the GPS it appears that I have no current maps. It can't find my own address.

during a previous attempt to update, I was giving the option of selecting a region, I not getting that option now.

With the card installed in the Zumo, and the Zumo attached to a PC, do you “see” the card in Device Manager? You should be able to find the Zumo and under that the card.

If it were me I'd use Express to install the map to my PC then use BaseCamp to install the map to the device/card. Note this isn't recommended for newer devices as other files are included in map updates.

Thanks, I tried that and it worked.

I had contacted the Garmin product support people that got me to try various things through Express that I'd already done.

Finally they told me that my device was defective and that I need to buy a new one.

Yes, I see the card, it is empty.
