Been in preparing device for Map update for an hour, what should I do? My device is charged 100 percent

Stuck in preparing device for map update for over an hour, my device is completely charged.
What can I do?

Then it's stuck. Disconnect the device and try again.

I have done that a few times now. This time I had left it alone, but didn’t seem to move on. Okay. I’ll disconnect and try one more time. Thanks

Again, what is the device, a GPS, watch, etc.? That may have some bearing on the fix.

I think I have a bad usb cable. Garmin is sending me a replacement.
