Error installing update on Garmin nuvi2497LMT

I recently decided to update my device to keep it valid. Prep phase completed with no problem, Map update however fails at 64.1% time and time again, I was using a 32Gb in device, replaced with another card, same result. Useful point was that I found a button that said download Map to PC, this completed OK.

However Map Update fails time and time again at 64.1%.

At the minute I have my iPhone strapped to my Garmin and I use that, I find it a much better device but would like my Garmin in working condition.

I have found lots of closed posts but no solution.

I've used numerous Garmins for over 10 years, all updated without issue. If yours doesn't there is a problem in your system somewhere. Ensure you follow each step in the FAQ exactly. If still no joy call…

Had tried all these steps myself, no change, I guess like everyone else who reported this I will buy a new Sat Nav. Is that the Garmin strategy. Very disappointed with lack of solution like everyone else.

When connected to the PC, is the device in MTP mode or mass storage mode (is it recognized as a removable disk by the PC?)?

Are you running Garmin Express as an administrator (under which operating system?)?

Is the memory card correctly formatted in FAT32? Are you using the default allocation size?
