Garmin Express crashes

I changed laptops this week and had to reinstall Garmin Express on my daughters laptop. Its a HP Omen with 16G RAM and 118G of C: drive (30G available) and Windows 10

Whenever I try to open it, it shows the crash window without opening anything. I have reinstalled it 3 times, tried run as admin and change the compatibility setting and nothing.

Please help

  • Garmin Express (GE) needs 20 GB of free space so you should be OK.  But I wonder if you are perhaps running Windows 10 in S mode?  If you are I don't believe GE is compatible with S mode.  S mode only runs apps from the Microsoft Store in an effort to be more secure.  To check, go to Settings > System > About. On the About page, scroll down to the “Windows Specifications” section.  If you see the words “in S mode” to the right of the Edition entry, you’re using an S Mode PC. If you don’t, you’re not using S Mode.
