Garmin Pay setup.

I've jus bought a Forerunner 255 and am trying to set up a Garmin Pay account. I don't have a smartphone but the Garmin Connect website says that I can set things up via Garmin Express. I cannot find where to set up Garmin Pay in Garmin Express. Any help in how to do this would be appreciated.

Have you tried setting up the Garmin Connect account with a web browser? See support.garmin.com/.../

Thanks for the reply. I tried setting up a Garmin Connect account via a web browser but when I enter the site I cannot find an option to register with Garmin Pay.

There is a 2-year old article at https://www.wareable.com/garmin/how-to-use-garmin-pay-890 that might be of help. I say 2-year because you can disregard the Forerunner compatibility list. Your 255 is compatible currently.

Thanks for the suggestion. I looked at the article but it only gives instructions for use with a smartphone. It seems that I won't be able to use Garmin Pay without buying one. Very annoying.

Not sure it would work, but have you tried the setup with a tablet. I see Garmin Connect versions both for iPad and Android and the Forerunner 255 is supposed to have improved connectivity.

Good idea. I used my Samsung android tablet and found the app on play.google.com. However I'm not able to install it, There is a message that says "This app is not available for your device". Another says "This app is not compatible with your device". Any suggestions as to why this is happening?

Apparently the Garmin Connect app is not compatible with your Android tablet. It could be the age of the tablet. Connect does seem to be compatible with my iPad Air 2 although I haven’t installed it.
