I have Garmin Nuvi 2589 tried to clear languages, text, vehicles etc folders to make space for new update. still it requires some more space. can I remove old maps? If so how should I do it? regards Cn Diva
As I said Express will do that automatically before it installs the new map, assuming you're talking about the normal Garmin CN map that is on your nuvi? If Express is asking for a sd card then you manually deleting the map won't change the need for a sd card. I'm not sure why you're trying to avoid installing a card, as devices work perfectly well with them installed.
32 GB microSD cards are about US$10 right now. A 16GB will work fine although that are sometimes hard to find. Any chance you have a old smartphone laying around that might have used a card? If so format it and try it in the GPS. I also see that Walmart has a 32GB for about $8 Canadian. See https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/Verbatim-VER44083-microSDHC/6000196254518. Just don't buy anything bigger than 32GB. Although the 2589 uses a 4GB minimum card I'd recommend 8GB minimum based on my 2689 and its card.
Please start a new thread in future rather than hijack another one, as it gets confusing when threads drift off topic.
For now disconnect it and try again. If that doesn't work please start a new thread and confirm you're running the latest Express, and state which device you have.
