If you've had issues with GE properly "starting", perhaps this is related. For quite some time I've plagued with the issue of GE not always starting. I will sometimes get the splash screen, maybe the message to allow changes, but then nothing. A reboot may allow a proper start, but not always. So a few days ago, and with the version prior to 7.12.0.0, I decided to right click the executable at C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Express\Express.exe and then selected "Troubleshoot compatibility." Windows 10 (latest) found an issue and ultimately selected to run the file in compatibility mode for Windows 8. At least for about a dozen or so attempts, GE seems to start without any issues.
