Garmin Express installation issue

I have installed Garmin Express v7.10 and it try to download the update 7.11.1.0.

Downloading works, but installing fails with a message which gives not technical information about the reason.

I had a try to uninstall manually Garmin Express and I get an error too.

So I guess that the installation error is caused by the uninstallation issue. Is there a way to remove the software manually?

  • Can you provide the exact wording of "...message which gives not technical information about the reason."  Also, check that you are up to date on your WIndows installation, specifically anything to do with .NET (which GE needs).

  • Hello,

    Exactly the same issue.
    Infos

.Net Framework Version 4.8.04084,  Release 528372
    Windows 10 Build 19044

I get this message on the Express Windows

    Install Faiuled
Garminb Express could not be installed on this computer. Try installaing again.

  • Has nothing to do with dotnet and checking this makes no sense since that the installer provide the libraries used for running Garmin Express.

The problem was on my side that to install a new version, the last version needed first to be uninstalled.

    Do followings:

    1. Try to uninstall garmin express. I expect a failure.
    2. In this case, open garmin express and disable the automatic start in the settings. Reboot your computer.
    3. Remove then \program files\garmin. This should be possible since that garmin express is not started at the boot
    4. Uninstall then garmin express from the system settings.
    5. Now the new version can be installed again
