[FIXED] Garmin Express 7.11 Install Error - January 2022

I have tried to install Garmin Express latest version 7.11.0.0 in a up to date Windows 10 operating system.

Always receiving the same error "Garmin Express could not be installed on this computer. Try installing again".

I have tried to search the installation error logfile and surprise, in this folder "C:\Users\<your_local>\AppData\Local\Temp" I have found the installation logfile "Garmin_Express_<********>.log"

Analyzing the file I have found the error, Garmin Express desktop software was trying to download  from Microsoft site the ".NET Framework 4.7.2" software

This is the installation error in my logfile

Error 0x80072ee2: Failed to acquire payload from: 'go.microsoft.com/.../

After this, I have tried to download myself the microsoft software including the url in my navigator chrome "go.microsoft.com/.../

The software has been downloaded automatically from microsoft.

I have installed manually the already downloaded software ".NET Framework 4.7.2"

And finally, I have tried again to install the Garmin Express 7.11 software and this time worked perfectly.

Garmin guys, please pay attention to these software errors. I have lost 3 hours of my live solving this issue ;-)

Hope this helps to other users in the community.

  • I'm kind of puzzled by that. Because under the system requirements it says: "Windows
Windows 7 SP1 or newer, Microsoft .NET 4.7.2 (included)".

So why did you have to download/install it separately?

By the way, the German Garmin page still says:

    "Windows
Windows 7 SP1 or newer, Microsoft .NET 4.5.2 (included)"...

  • I had to install manually because the sw was not working properly. In the spanish website also is requesting .NET 4.5.2 instead of 4.7.2
