Unable to install new map update on 1030. Download very slow since weeks

I've been trying to install the new map update on my Edge 1030 device. But just a few seconds after the download started, speed drop to crazy low values and never recovers. You can't download over 11,5GB with just 150KB/s.

It's definitlely not my Internet Connection since other downloads are blazing fast, just Garmin Express is really slow. It is going for weeks now, almost looks like there is a bottleneck on Garmin Server side.

  • If you believe it's a Garmin issue try calling Product Support. It very rarely is a Garmin issue though but perhaps you're one of the few.

  • Tried it now with different PC's and also at different network connections (home, work, parents) Everytime the connection is getting very slow and then tanks. So it doesn't seem that is specifically my connection/configuration.

My wife is experiencing the same thing with her fenix device. Also at different locations.

  • Then as suggested please call Product Support for detailed help

  • May I ask where you are ocated? Just wondering if there is a difference in how source IP's are being handled. Someone in the Forums mentioned a VPN to the US to solve this problem. Kind of sad, I also get the Feeling that something isn't properly routed over the net. Looks like the bottleneck is somewhere between Provider, Provider Backbone and Sea-Cable.
