Purchased Map for Edge 1030 Plus Vanished from Express

I purchased the Australia/NZ maps for my Garmin Edge 1030.

When I went to install them go the message that the installed failed. So rebooted computer, reconnected the 1030 and now the only maps that show in express are the default ones that were on the device.

Have open and closed express and rebooted the computer to no avail.

Any suggestions?

  • Do you have enough free space on your computer (I think at least twice the size of the download) and on your Edge 1930 Plus?

    I can't sat for purchased maps, but with the included maps Express will only show uninstalled maps that will fit in the free space available.

  • Yes. Was very bizarre. The Australian/NZ maps (400 MB) were not showing as uploadable in Express. Copied the files from the garmin to my computer and then deleted some. Still did not show up even though most of the 32GB was now empty. So I installed the European maps (which were showing) from Express which loaded 50% of the space on the drive. After I did this the ones I bought were also showing in Express so was able to upload them.

    Poor performance from Garmin. The brand new 1030 would not even update the 2020 loaded maps because there was not enough room. All working now fortunately, but not sure what non-computer literate users (like my wife!) would do ...
