This is the Garmin Express forum, which is different from Garmin Connect. So you could be referring to Garmin Connect Web, Garmin Connect Mobile iOS, or Garmin Connect Mobile Android. Which is it?

If you're in Garmin Connect Web, open activities https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activities

Hover mouse over the activity name then the pencil will appear 

Click on the pencil, then you'll be able to edit the activity name.
