Garmin Express 7.6.0.0 pulled and Currently replaced by 7.5.0.0

I just bought a new Montana 700i and wanted to update it before use. Thank god i made a backup before doing so. On starting GE it reported there was an updat which needed to be installed. So I went ahead and did so, after this I connected my brand new Montana 700i and let GE do the nitty gritty stuff. After GE reported all was done (firmware and Map updates for Topo Active Europe and And CN Europ NT) with updates and found out that GE only installed one of 2 topo images and deletd the other one, I could no longer copy maps to my PC. Having chatted to garmin support they reported to have fixed it the next morning, so I tried after reading the e-mail. I did do a restore from the backup I made so I had a usable GPS again.

Low and behold, Garmin Express (7.5.0.0) with the so called fix trashed the GPS again. And now for 2 days Garmin express does not detect any of my garmin devices and claims the express servers are down. It's a pity Garmin does not have a messaging function that tells you there are issues on startup. They can use the sam function they use to tell you there is an update. The store where I bought my Montana was recieving several swap requests from people that had their new device Trashed by Garmin Express..

Congrats Garmin for the great mess you created globally. Maybe it's time for designing a better deployment procedure like every respectful software developer uses:

1: Development

2: Test

3: Acceptance

4: Production

And of course with so many different devices that can be challenging and labour intensive, but then again you push your customers over the cliff!
