Map update download drive

Can you PLEASE make the drive that is used to update the map on my Edge device selectable? Express requires about 20GB of free space on the C drive to be able to update the map. I have a very small C drive, where I cannot make that space available. I have a very large D drive, with plenty of free space. Why can't Express use that?

That seems to be a different issue, i.e. changing the location of a map installed on the computer. I want to change the location Garmin Express uses to temporarily download the map update for my Garmin Edge 1000.
I don't have any map products installed on my computer. Using appwiz.cpl, I can only uninstall Garmin Express itself.
