As in my subject line, but more detailed:
I decided to become physically active again, after retiring from the Army in 2018. I had my Forerunner 301 in my desk drawer. Plugging it into my Windows 10 PC, I see that Windows recognizes it as "generic" device, and acknowledges the physical connection.
However, Garmin Express cannot see it, sense it, or connect to it.
I know--you'll say--"update yourself." Or, "get current." Or, perhaps, "just use your Apple iPhone."
Please know that I am a disabled Veteran and I am emotionally attached to this Forerunner 301. It helped me measure unit runs at Fort Drum, New York. I wore it while deployed to Afghanistan. It was a reliable as our Sun. I want to use it again, but I want to make sure Garmin's software will find it, recognize it, update it, and download workouts from it.
Please assist, advise, or help in any way you can.
Thank you,
PJ
