Garmin express app not opening on Windows 10 computer

Okay. I recently bought a garmin venu and started to set it up Monday. I installed the garmin express app on my computer and was able to use the app.   Since then, I haven't been able to open the app.  I tried uninstalling it, then reinstalling it, but that didn't work.  I contacted garmin by phone, and the rep suggested it was my computer.  So, I contacted my internet/computer support, and he couldn't find any reason other than a garmin specific error message.  So, I contacted garmin again and was told there was a known issue regarding this matter.  She sent me an email to answer some questions and provide information through garmin collect log or something like that.  I had problems attaching the log thing, but I managed to get it sent-- I think.   Is anyone else having this issue or has anyone managed to get this issue resolved?  Also, off topic, is there a separate forum section for the venu?  Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me with these matters.  Jeni

  • Can't help with Express but here for Venu sub forum forums.garmin.com/.../venu

  • Same issue. Sent logs to Garmin a week ago and still waiting to hear back.

  • Okay, I got it to work today!  Here is what I did, hopefully, it will work for you, too:  I went to the garmin support center, typed in Garmin Express, then went to "common error messages."  I selected the "Garmin Express Fails to Launch or Open on a Windows computer."  When I got there, I did #6, "Force Close Garmin Express in Task Manager," then I did #4, "Delete the Garmin Express configuration files."  Good luck!

Thanks for the replies & the link to Garmin Venu.

Hello I had the same problem and no one to help me really, I look everywhere and try Oh so many things, and I finally resolved it all alone , and here is what I did, click start and wrote

    Computer management

    then click on
    disk management

there i was able to see my garmin gps was connected on my usb that I assign the letter D, I right click to open the menu of the
open the propriety, and choose material, there I was able to see the gps and the sd card, I click first the gps
then propriety, click pilot, update pilot, click the option on my computer , click again the option on my computer, and there
was 2 option there I pick the first one, click ok, close and the the same for the micro sd card, and boom, the computer
suddenly started to see both, each time I connect the gps the pc say Oh no this device as error and need to be fix
IGNORE THIS STUPID WARNING, try garmin express it will detecte the device and you will be able to update map etc
I strongly advice you to make a save of everything you got on the device on your computer, to be safe
