Today when I synched by connecting to the PC I lost all of yesterdays data

I have a Garmin Vivoactive 3

the Garmin express software is 7.2.2.0

this is the second time that this has happened when I physically connect the device. It has synched todays efforts but the whole of yesterdays data has gone.

why does this happen.

Is it only yesterday or everything before today? If it's the latter, could you have 2 accounts and somehow changed accounts today in error?
