Garmin express installation to Garmin swim fails.

Garmin Express on Windows 10. I have a Garmin Swim. The ANT stick is recognized and there are Items ready to install as I show here,

When clicking on Install it connects to the watch successfully (the watch shows DATA TRANSFER screen) but it the it fails showing this message,

I tried removing the device from Garmin express and also clearing the cache data, and the issue remains.

  • There is a known issue with Garmin Express and the Garmin Swim watch. Click "View details" to check what kind of items are ready to install. You'll probably see "User settings" or something like this. The thing is, the Garmin Swim does not support user settings transfer from garmin express, therefore the installation attempt fails. The only solution to this issue is to ignore it.

  • Indeed the items to be installed were "User Settings". I remove them from the queue, but I guess it will come up again? Garmin could fix this on the Garmin Express side!

  • but I guess it will come up again?

    Yes, it will.

Garmin could fix this on the Garmin Express side!

The issue is at least 4 years old, and the Garmin Swim is already abandoned, so I wouldn't count on any fix. Just ignore the error message.

  • Oddly enough I had this watch for 3 years and this issue appeared only in 2021. I will indeed ignore it, but it is annoying.
