My "old" Windows 10 had no problem with my 735XT which has the latest 9.8 firmware since it was launched.
But recently all the updates around Windows 10 20H2 my 735XT is intermittently recognized by Windows 10.
In the beginning not even not at all.
My Asus motherboard with a fast system based upon Intel CPU i7 7700K & 16GB RAM was already updated to the latest bios. The Win10 upgrade should mean that everything should be updated very recently (16-01-2021).
Still to be sure I checked the drivers at the Asus support site, re-installed them but several were overruled by the latest Win10 drivers.
Apparently the PC works similar as before. There were never yellow exclamation marks in the hardware section from the control panel.
I reinstalled the latest Garmin Express 7.2.2.0 and could not get connection. Even after a soft reset of my 735XT.
I tried it also on my Dell E6330 laptop which was also updated to Windows 10 20H2.
After a second soft reset my laptop did recognize the 735XT.
Now the PC: NOK...
I did another soft reset and then my PC recognized my 735XT!
What I found out: Unmounting the watch from the system tray seems very important.
But then reconnecting the 735X again with the same cable to that USB port or even another does mostly not work.
After a new soft reset my day time is lost... at least 1h15min behind in time... so I have to get outside to get satellite connection first to get the right time... and it is winter.... not planning to run because of the evening/night clock lock-down starting at 21.00 "Amsterdam time".... ;)
After the last action mostly the 735XT is recognized again by the PC....
The behavior on my laptop is quite similar.
Please some input what can be done to get rid of this annoying situation to do what I described to get my 735XT connected in a normal way.
For the rest I like the 735XT very much.
Thanks and keep all Covid-19-free/save.... and enjoy your sport(s).
