Garmin Express 7.2.2.0 is dangerous

I cannot get my ForeRunner 245 to connect again.

It charges, and it makes the ding sound when plugging it in, but no data connections.

Some people have had success by manually installing the Garmin USB drivers, maybe it will work for you as well:

The driver is actually nothing more than a text file that identifies the device. It's the usb drivers in Windows that are actually used.

Have you tried different USB ports or computers?
