7.2.2 Broke communication with my Edge 305 - I need to download 7.2.1

Have a working Edge 305. Updated my main laptop's (win7/64) Garmin Express to 7.2.2 and lost communication to the workstation. 

Went to another workstation (Win10/64) and installed 7.2.2 and it will not install my 305.

Grabbed another laptop (Win7/64) which has 7.2.1 and it continues to work fine. 

I have a workaround but very dissatisfied with loss of support on a working product. 

How can I go back to 7.2.1?

    Have you tried deleting your device from Express?  Having done so reboot your PC then re-add it.

    If you read my post, you will see that I documented 3 different workstations that either work or do not. Everything with 7.2.1 works, and everything with 7.2.2 either ceased to communicate after the update from 7.2.1 to 7.2.2, (delete the device and it will never re-add) or from a fresh install of either Win7/64 or Win10/64 it will simply not add. My other devices are still working as they should.

    I was able to do an online chat with Garmin Support regarding my Forerunner 205/305 not working with 7.2.1. Communication was repaired after the next update. Garmin Support might already know about the issue, but I suggest you contact them to be sure.

    They were closed last night, but I did open an email ticket with them. Fingers X'ed I will post here if we find a solution.

    UPDATE: GE 7.2.2.0 does work, but here is the story

    Garmin did get back with me and we exchanged emails and pictures multiple times through the day. We were unable to make the laptop work though. 

    I worked for the next 2 days to arrive at this:

    Original laptop Win7/64 sees the 305 correctly (as Garmin USB GPS in device manager) but will not add it to GE 7.2.2.0

    Dropped back to 7.0.2.0 and at that time it would not work either. 

    Fresh Win10/32 load on another desktop, installed GE 7.2.2.0 and it would not properly see the 305.

    Dug out an old desktop Win7/32 that I used to use 2 years ago, and it still works. GE 6.5.x.x

    Did a fresh load on another laptop Win7/32, loaded GE 7.0.2.0 and it would not see the 305 correctly. I manually loaded the drivers from a file called USBDrivers_2312.exe and at this point device manager correctly saw the 305. I was able to add it to GE at this time. I set a restore point (in case I broke it again) and updated to GE 7.2.2.0, and it still worked. 

    Hummmmm

    I went back to the Win10 workstation, manually updated the drivers (from the same file), and was able to add the 305 to GE 7.2.2.0, and it worked.

    I went back to the problem laptop and the oldest restore point I had was 12/22, so I went back to there. Manually updated the drivers, installed 7.0.2.0 and it worked. I updated to 7.2.2.0 and it also works now. 

    SO, there is some driver strangeness but it is doable. Something odd happened (unrelated) to my main laptop that broke everything but I am back operational. 

    Garmin support was great working with me, even we ran out of time that day to resolve it. I have advised them what it took to resolve this. 

    Hopefully this will help someone resolve their issue down the line.
