Can't connect to Express but I did Once

Garmin 2797 GPS

Can't connect to Garmin Express.  It connected ONCE after a computer shutdown and added the GPS to Express but since that point (another reboot/shutdown)  the GPS does not recognized that's its conned to the computer and Express can't find it.  I tried my wife's machine and Express finds the GPS just  fine (same internet, Cord).  I've even tried different cords, computer USB ports and GPS ports no success (micro & bigger GPS port)

If I shut my computer off it will show the CORRECT computer tower connection on the GPS screen with the computer off (doesn't make sense).  Charging the GPS battery via the computer USB port appears fine and if I disconnect the cord it shows the proper power loss screen..  Device manager does not show "Storage" (GPS) device and I've removed/updated drivers.  Bluetooth works fine.

Help

Fixed the problem - used another computer - map updates, used basecamp loaded trail maps, etc..- no problem.

Wireless mouse and keyboard works in both USB ports.  I thought that was the problem.  Sometimes the driver would cancel power to the port the GPS would report wrong cable  (clear driver power management checkoff )  The GPS would occasional connect to the computer and then drop it 2 minutes later.  Maybe is a virus my virus SW is not.  Very Strange happenings
