Server Error in Garmin Express

Hi, 

installed Garmin Express on Windows 10. Added Edge 530 and logged in to Garmin Connect. 

I cannot update the device, the error message is the often recited "cannot connect to server" (in German). Time and time zone are set correctly. Ports are open. 

I also installed the software on another Windows 10 PC - same result. Tried connecting using my phone's hotspot.

Again - same result.

Downgraded to 7.1.3  - same result

Downgraded to 6.7.0.0 forced to update to 7.1.4 

This doesn't seem to be normal? 

Edit: Changed Conntect to Express...

  • Update: Works again - not sure why. So here is all that happened:

    The edge 530 was in the box for a while and was running firmware 5.50

    I updated the firmware using Connect Mobile on a Pixel 3a.

    Doing that I unplugged the Garmin from the computer and while it was not connected to Garmin Express I clicked on "search for updates" for the not connected 530. 

    Then it showed the map update, I clicked on it. It told me to plug the Garmin in and now it works. So maybe that helps someone who is experiencing the same problems...
