Is there an offline installer available for this version?
Not sure what you mean by that, Express can be updated from within itself or directly from the Express webpage
What I mean is that the full offline installer available from https://download.garmin.com/omt/express/GarminExpress.exe was (up to the time of my original post) still getting version 7.1.2.0.
Due to issues reported in a multitude of other posts (and places around the net) with GarminExpress installers on Windows10, the only way I can update the software (without jumping through 10 hoops that include removing and re-installing packages that I need for work) is by using a custom uninstaller to completely nuke the previous version of GarminExpress and install the new one from an offline installer.
The online update ("from within itself") leads to an install failed message.
Not offline then. I get 7.1.3 when I go to the Express webpage.
Offline installers for all intents and purposes are setups that include all necessary dependencies (like .NET for example) also referred to as "standalone" "full" or what have you.
They're the kind of setup you can download on one computer that has an internet connection (or get in a usb stick) and use on another "offline" computer to install the program.
Offline = does not require an internet connection during setup, so my referring to it as offline is absolutely correct.
It has been updated to 7.1.3.0 when I try it now (wasn't at the time of my original post)
I'm not going to argue semantics but glad you found 7.1.3 just as I did. I'll lock this thread.
