I cannot install the latest version of this software because the previous version will no uninstall.
Garmin, this issue seems to be a recurring theme with Garmin Express for a lot of users. Why is the installer so terrible for this application?
- I have ensured that the process is not running
- I have done many restarts
- I have followed all other online uninstall guides for the software (e.g. https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=6nBhfHhXik18XrRU6BfULA)
- I have explored the Event Viewer application logs
- I am running Windows 10 Pro (20H2 - 19042.450)
- I have tried to re-install the same version
- services.msc does not have any entry starting with "Garmin ..."
- I have tried selecting to Delete all Garmin express content and not to do so
- I have tried installing the new version as an Administrator
- MS has an application to fix software removal problems, but the download link is broken (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/windows-fix-problems-that-block-programs-being-installed-or-removed)
There's nothing that will remove this application.
