Garmin Express won't let me sign in

Hi all,

I very recently updated to GE 7.1.2.0 (not without difficulty. Got a lot of "installation failed, try again later").
Now the new GE asks me for my e-mail and password when I click on my watch on the GE home menu.

The e-mail and password are correct (they work on the website), I even successfully changed the password.
And yet I can't go beyond this step.
GE just brings me back to this login screen. No error message, no incorrect password message. Just the same "enter your e-mail and password" screen.
An endless loop.

After 3 or 4 tries, the Garmin server even banned my IP...

Has anyone had this problem before?
Is it just bad timing/maintenance? This happens right after I've upgraded to 7.1.2.0.
Wish I could login and sync my 6X... :-/
