This morning I got Express updated, but the dumps happen every time I try to connect:
I added three dumps, but I cannot see them: now I'm trying with a zip:express.exe.10244.zip
This evening Express updated at 7.1.2.0 but crashes the same: express.exe.5716.zip

I ran into a similar problem over a year ago. It happened right after a Gramin Express update. In my experience, after updating Garmin Express launched correctly every time as long as my Garmin device (Fenix 5X Plus) was not connected to the computer. When I connected the device, GE crashed immediately.
I went through a lot of testing, and I finally found a solution that worked for me. I'm including a link below in case you want to look at those details. In the thread I link below, I have two long posts. The first one details the troubleshooting I did with Garmin. The second long post describes what actually fixed this for me.
Good luck with it! I know it's frustrating.
Dear dkhwv, thank you so much for your help!
In my case things are slightly different: New Express works perfectly both with and without the device. Synchronizes perfectly and works OK. But crashes regularly every time I press Connect from the UI.
I'm quite tempted to roll back, but I'll read and follow your suggestions anyway.
Thanks again
Today another update: 7.1.3.0
Same behaviour: Everything works except the connection from the UI. Manual connection works. Same dump: express.exe.10180.zip
Thank you SUSSAMB !
I'm quite glad for you and for the numerous other users that happily work without any issue, but a dump is a dump and perhaps someone who wrote the application should have a look into it.
I work as a designer, developer and tester for many international softwares and this is the only dump I get now among many other alpha and beta softwares I'm working on...
Thus my doubt not being the only one in the world.
Anyway it's possible that, having avoided the dkhwv's intelligent procedure, the unclean uninstall Garmin procedure could have left something that causes the dump. I did it on purpose because perhaps a Garmin solution I'm still waiting for, can be the final one.
It's also possible that the dump can be substituted with a simple warning if this is the case, but a dump must be always avoided.
