System Software Missing

Hi,

I have a Garmin 2589lmt. I had issues with the unit displaying: System Software Missing

I went ahead and uninstalled the Garmin Express from my Laptop ( Win 8.1 OS ). Restarted the Laptop and went to Garmin.com and Downloaded the latest Express Version for Windows. Followed the prompts to install Express, Conected the Unit and did the Software update; I still get the same error.

The GPS is out of warranty.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Have you tried a master reset? If so and that hasn't resolved it call Garmin, they've replaced devices in the past that are out of warranty.

Hi, Thank you for getting back with me. I haven't tried the Master Reset; actually i'm not sure how to do it.
