Nuvi 1450 not recognized on Windows 8.1 or 10

I have a nuvi 1450 and trying to update maps with Garmin express. Tried every single advice on Garmin support with no success. Cannot connect my device on USB with original cable.

Anybody has experienced success with updates?

I am about to switch to another product.

Bit more information would help. When connecting does anything happen? Does it show in Explorer or not even there? Are you using latest version of Express? Have you tried one or all USB ports on your PC? Have you tried a different cable?

Oh yes, I have connected on all USB ports on the computer. All software are latest version (except for Windows 8.1). I am able to copy files on the Garmin, so it is recognized by the OS. I have only used the supplied USB cable. Today, I will try other cables.

Run through this FAQ. Don't assume you've already done them, and even if you had try again in the order given support.garmin.com/.../
