I checked my upload and download speed, it registers at .45 meg per second and .50 meg per second. remaining download time jumps between 7 hours and 20 hours remaining. I have been a Garmin fan for a long time. but wondering if maybe giving one of their competitors a chance now.

nothing else takes this long or now where near it. 1.2 Kilobytes per second? REALLY? and do not say it is my equipment ! I checked no problems here.

  • Well something is wrong somewhere as my speeds are way faster than that, you may find your ISP is throttling the download, this FAQ may also help support.garmin.com/.../

no throttling down , I gave Garmin hi priority. still no change. There was a program called CefSharp.BrowserSubprocess running with Garmin. I shut it down. I had about 16% downloaded after a day and night of downloading. I live on an island in the Caribbean and power and internet can sometimes be intermittent. when My network hiccuped the Garmin restarted and I am now back to 59K speed .3% complete AGAIN . 15 hours and 19 minutes estimated DL time! this is maddening! I figure if I spent as many hours working and getting paid by the hour at normal rate. I have put in about $500 dollars worth of time on this problem so far.

all I need is local maps for the island of Roatan, off the coast of Honduras. Maybe there is a way of getting local map for here.?

  • Try calling Garmin to see if they can help with your problem.
