Update crashes

I have recently updated Garmin express in windows 10 but when I connect, it shows a different serial number and crashes when I try to update maps and software. I have a Navigator 6 and now only has the basemap since it crashed.

Not sure how Express crashing would remove a map from your Navigator? First thing I would try is to delete your Navigator from Express then re-add it.

I've tried that thanks. I am thinking it is more to do with the serial number not matching. I have removed Express completely and reinstalled it, it then finds my unit but the serial number does not match my unit ID. I think it may be my old Nuvi but I don't have it now.

Well is it still crashing? If not then I wouldn't worry.

Unfortunately yes. I tried using Mapinstall and the same thing happens unless I only install a few small areas of UK. Any more and it crashes.

Then I suspect your best way forward is to call Garmin ...
