Updating maps

Is there an alternative method of updating maps? I have a whole bunch of updates to do (new watch) and says it'll take over 6 hours, but the watch needs to be connected the whole time, which seems like absolute nonsense. Why would the watch need to be connected while the maps are downloading?
Anyone know how could I download the updates first and install them once they're actually ready?

That's way slower than normal, maybe have a chat with your ISP to see if they throttle downloads

That's as fast as my connection goes. Anyways. Do you by any change know why there's a "Golf Clubs" item that Express tells me I should install, even though it says right away it's not compatible?
