Garmin Express Fatally Flawed

Updated to Garmin Express 6.18.0.0. Now, GE cannot see my Oregon 700 (it does see the Forerunner 645). Shows up in My Computer. Did all the troubleshooting (uninstalled and then clean install of GE, run as Administrator, use main USB ports on tower computer, etc.). Have opened ticket with human being on phone (although I never got email confirmation). That's two hours of my life I will never get back.

My advice -- do not update from 6.17 (which was working fine) to 6.18. (Windows 7 Pro, Dell i7 tower).

Matt called me back and we spent 30 minutes on the phone. Went over all the fixes he could think of to include remove and reload, new card, turn off antivirus reboot, spit over left shoulder etc. Nothing better, in fact showed 0kb download speeds. BUT, after that while still showing 0kb speed, the %downloaded started to increase. Very hopeful but it froze at 84% and program locked up, twice, at same 84%. Well, says I, lets see what we have. Exited out and pulled up Homeport and all the maps loaded.

i still say Garmin Express for win newest version is fatally flawed. Works, kind of, but you don’tknow it.

Matt did open a case file but said it would be two weeks before I may hear something. I’ll pass on what I learn.
