Garmin Express does not start when I plug in my Edge 1030,

It's my understanding that Garmin Express should start when I plug in my Edge 1030, It has not done this for well over a year. The Win 10 computer recognizes the 1030 fine but I have to manually start Express. Not a big issue but sometimes I forget to start Express. I have the check box checked on the setting menu for Express to open Express when device is plugged in. Any simple solutions? I have tried to reinstall Express with no change.

Nope, must be your PC. Have you tried different usb ports?

Yes, I have tried other ports. I just tried installing Garmin Express on my laptop which also runs Win 10 with the latest updates and it also does not start Garmin Express when I plug in the 1030.

Wonder if the 1030 can't start Express then? Can't think of any other reason

I deleted Garmin Express from the laptop and then reinstalled it and it worked. I tried the same thing on the desktop and it still has the problem. One thing I noticed is that when I plug the 1030 in, it takes about 30 seconds before it show up in file explorer on the desktop. Probably a registry problem but I don't feel like spending hours trouble shooting the issue. The wonderful world of Windows.
