I have big problems with GE 6.17.0.0. When I try to update my GPS 3590, I get this message "sorry we´re having problems communicating with our servers". I live in Sweden and have contacted Garmin Support in Sweden, but they couldn´t help me. They only suggested me to create a new user, but it didn´t help. I have last Windows, ver 1903, if maybe that could be a reason for the error notification?
Then contact Garmin by phone for help
I contacted Garmin Support one week ago, but they couldn´t help me. They should contact someone in England and ask for advice, and promised to call me back the next day. They still have not called me. I have had so much troubles with Garmin SW and HW eversince Win 10 was released. so my patience begins to end, and I consider buying a new GPS. But not a Garmin product.
I'm on both Win7 and Win10, no issues. Trying to diagnose issues that aren't resolved by the FAQ via the forum is generally impossible hence the need to call support so they can, if necessary, take remote control of your PC
GE is the only program on my PC that doesn´t work well. Why? And I have many programs. I also have downloaded new other programs now the last days, just for checking that my PC is ok. These programs work without problems. I also understand it´s difficult for you to make a diagnose. Generally if you google for "garmin express problem", you will find a lot of persons having troubles. So something with GE-Garmin is generating problems. With Win8 I had no problems.
Why GE doesn't work for you I can't say, and yes, others have issues but generally they are resolved with the FAQ. Given the numbers that use GE the number having issues is very small, hence the difficulty in determining their particular issue.
https://appuals.com/fix-garmin-express-problems/ " Garmin is a very popular application which is also known to have compatibility issues with Microsoft Windows. There are several cases where the application fails to load or when it gives an error when opening. This is due to the fact that both, the operating system and the application have frequent compatibility issues and this isn’t solved until one party launches an update to deal with the issue." I found a solution for the problem with GE displaying server error. Instead of installing GE in Program Files (x86), I did the install in another folder. In my case it was "Downloaded Files", but any other folder would surely work. And after that GE was able to contact garmin servers. I don´t have an answer on why this was working. Maybe a Win error or combination Win-Garmin. But I´m satisfied with this, and that I can go on update and use my 3590.
