To anyone who might be able to help,
I am an expat living in China (originally from the UK) - and bought a Garmin eTrex e30x with a worldwide basemap... which is exclusively in Chinese... Is there any way to get an English language version of the worldwide basemap? I'd happily buy one but I can't find anything anywhere... I've been searching for weeks now on Google and nothing... Tried to make my own basemap by writing scripts to process OpenStreetMap etc.. but nothing...
I'm so fed up with this (along with the fact that Garmin still uses USB-Mini and only supports USB 1.1 - which means transferring large maps literally takes days as Basecamp refuses to split maps into 4Gb segments unless its uploading to the device directly) that I've reached the point of wanting to throw it out the window.
I would be eternally grateful to anyone who can get me a reasonably recent worldwide basemap (gmapbmap.img) in English....
Sorry for posting that here, but I couldn't find anything regarding eTrex that wasn't in German on this forum.
