Using my W10 PC I have just successfully updated the software and maps on my nuvi 2597LM, but the PC was then unable successfully to eject/safely remove the device. After trying, Windows Explorer failed to respond and could not be closed using Task Manager. After turning off the PC and unplugging the nuvi, I turned it on and after the initial Garmin screen the screen went white, with two thin black line parallel to the edges of the screen, intersecting with a dot and "Touch dot". On tapping the dot , the line switched to another position, with the same words, and so on. Holding the on/off button for 10 seconds produced the same screen. On switching back on the PC, it worked perfectly. When I reconnect the nuvi, Garmin Express recognises it and functions, but the nuvi still can't be safely ejected. I have then connected my nuvi 1490 to the PC with the same cable and it connects to Garmin Express, updates and can then be ejected/safely removed without any problem. Trying again with the nuvi 2597 still results in it not being ejected after it has connected to Garmin Express. Anyone any idea how I can recover from this impasse?
