Forerunner 735XT not recognised by Windows 7 or 10

Since release 6.16.1 of Garmin Express windows 7 and 10 do not recognise my Forerunner 735XT.

I get USB unknown device on Windows 7 and windows 10 says Invalid Device Descriptor.

I've googled the errors and nothing has made any difference.

Garmin support say it's Windows at fault .. but I've tried 3 different pc's and all return the same fault.

Stuck now as i can't update apps etc.

Then this means that the watch is at fault. The watch should be recognized as a removable drive even when no Garmin Express is installed. Also I would check another cable.
