Can firmware for a GPS MAP 1042xsv be downloaded from Internet? or to computer and to device?

I purchased a GPSMap 1042xsv and need to install the updates on it.  Firmware first to take advantage of the new programs.  However, my computer does not have a card reader, just one USB port (MS Surface).  I do have a Targus multi-port device but no card reader on it either.  So what other methods are there to enable a firmware update?
