Garmin Express unable to load maps to microSD card for Kenwood HU

I have Garmin Express 6.13.10 running on a Windows 10 laptop with over 40GB free on the laptop drive. I formatted a 32GB microSD in my PC, then loaded it into a Kenwood Excelon DNX695S HU. Using the Garmin -> Settings -> MapUpdate utility on the Kenwood HU, the microSD was "imprinted". I took the microSD out and installed it in my laptop. Using Garmin Express, I successfully added the microSD card as one of my Garmin devices (Kenwood HU).

However, when I went to install the maps, it comes back with the error: "We're unable to install the updates.

The latest version of these maps have so much information that we're not going to be able to fit it all on your device's internal memory. Please contact Product Support for help with updating your maps."

The instructions call for an SD card between 8GB and 32GB. My microSD card has 29GB available.

What's the issue? ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1474031.png

I did receive a response back from Garmin, and I will share it here in case anyone else runs into the same issue.

The reason you are getting the error message is that Garmin Express is trying to reinstall the same map you already have on the internal memory. The 2019 update has not been released yet but is expected in the next month or so. You will also need the latest Kenwood firmware updates for the update to work properly.

Hopefully this will save someone some time in the future. That's the benefit I get from user forums, happy to contribute.
