The post is originally from 2014. There should be sub headers on them paragraphs informing on when the post was edited or when the written is going to take effect.
Have not yet been able to download the newest version, but on monday the 18th of March, I could not find a button to update the device firmware thru the program. Taking my new watch into use then and installing the Express for PC first time some of the Connect IQ downloads rose a notification saying, that my OS is out of date. I think it would be more clear to use the word "firmware", if it is about the device, or "Garmin OS on the device", cause I immediately started thinking, I'm not gonna update my Windows. The device software (Fenix 5 Plus) had to be updated from the device Settings menu, yet it was connected thru the data/charge cable to my computer.
