Purchased MAP with "Ready to activate" and not downloading

Hi. I´m from Brazil. I own a DriveSmart 61 LMT-S with North America NT, with no problems with updates. On December 13 2017 I bought at garmin.com, download version, the City Navigator South America NT, because the brazilian garmin site only sell the SD Card version. I downloaded it thru Garmin Express without problems, I got CNSA 2018.10 and 2018.20 back then.
Coincidently this December 13 2018, I decided to buy a newer version of the CN South America, as I was aware that the version 2019.20 was being mentioned in some forums. I bought it at garmin.com again, Download version, paid, got the confirmation email of the order, and proceeded to Garmin Express to download it to my GPS.

    At the "Purchased" tab at first I saw what I´ve always seen before, a line with the "City Navigator South America NT" and the small cloud to download. Clicked it to download, and at first the map downloaded was CNSA 2018.20. I thought that was odd, because I´ve just bought the new map, why was it the older one. Then I notice the link to "Login". I logged in, then two lines appear, the one that was there and a new one with "City Navigator South America NT" with "Ready to activate" right underneath it. I thought "well this might be the newer map I´ve just bought", then clicked the cloud to download the newer map, but a red banner on GE says "There was an error installing this content", and it doesn´t download, no matter what I do (firewall, run as administrator, etc). When I click the first line, after I logged in, now it downloads the CNSA 2019.10.

    So here is my questions: Shouldn´t it download the latest version, 2019.20, instead? And Why the other line has "Ready to activate" and it do not dowonload anything?

    Acessing garmin.com, and my Profile there, I see at the bottom, the two Contents/Subscriptions, both City Navigator South America NT, one of those says "Expires: Dec 13 2018" and the other "Expires: Dec 13 2019", this last one I presume is the recently bought map. Does this some how relate to the GE item that is not downloading? I searched everywhere, lots of forums, including this one, and found no answer to this yet. I know now that at my profile I have to contents, now that I bought the map twice (Dec 13 2017 and Dec 13 2018). The one that is "Ready to activate" is the one which expired at Dec 13 2018?

    I´m just confused, trying to understand this. Sorry for a long post, but it was necessary to explain it.

  • Are you sure that 2019.20 applies to the SA map? It's entirely possible that 2019.10 is the latest.

    I think it does apply to South America map, but I start to think if the 2019.20 is the lifetime version that might be released to LMT units bought in Brazil (mine was bought at amazon.com with North America LMT-S, as this unit is not sold in Brazil). I managed to buy the South America map back on Dec 13 2017, and got the languages files, so now it works fine here in Brazil.

    To be honest I didn´t see the 2019.20 map file itself, just mentions of it in some forums, searching the internet. But garmin itself does not clarifies which version I´m buyng, if it matters, or I couldn´t find any official versions history of maps to check that out.

    Maybe I´m trying to get something that "it´s not there". But the "Ready to activate" item bugs me anyway. I know I bought two maps, at different moments, maybe those at Garmin Express are those maps, and one of them exprired, and now I can´t download it anymore, maybe that´s the answer to my question....

    At this brazilian forum, they even say 2019.20 was released at Oct 2018 (http://gpsinfo.com.br/viewtopic.php?f=213&t=10264) . At another post, they mention 2019.10 was released at May 2018.

    I confirmed today that the CNSA 2019.20 file was originated from a brazilian Garmin 3597 LMT device with South America original map. Maybe that version is only delivered to brazilian LMTdevices.

    Hello, sorry to step on an old thread but need an answer if anyone can. I purchased the South America Brazil map update from Garvin for my Nuvi 55 and am in the process of the download through Garmin Express. After the initial download I am on my 5th download of City Navigator South America NT. Is this normal or is just reinstalling the same thing over and over?

  • Would have been better to have started a new thread as your problem doesn't seem the same, but struggling to understand what you mean by you're now on your 5th download?

    Sorry. Been quite awhile since I posted on any kind of forum. When I say that I am on my 5th download it is just that. I originally d/l'd the map I purchased and then the City Navigator Brazil NT ( I wrongly mentioned that this was South America in my original post ) came up for d/l. I did d/l the City Navigator Brazil NT. Then it looks for more d/l's and say you have one for CNBNT again. I am wondering if this is an anomaly or just more maps that are really installing. Think I did it 3 more times.....
