Garmin Express Can't Find Device (Honda Headunit)

Formated a new USB thumb drive (32 gb) to FAT32, plugged into car to download the device info. Run Garmin Express and it can't find device. If I go to the thumb drive in Windows Explorer I can see an XML file inside a Garmin folder named GarminDevice.

All the FAQ suggestions have been no help.

The Honda update requires a 16 GB card be used. This is a specification by Honda, not Garmin. Please try again using a 16 GB card and if it still fails, contact Product Support for assistance.

using a 16GB thumb drive. same EXACT problem. And BTW the Honda specs on YOUR page say use AT LEAST 16gb.

did you ever get a resolution? I have the same problem. even using a 16gb usb drive
